Designing Our BridgesThis week we continued our exploration of how we can problem solve using bridges. During the week, we learned about various challenges faced by children all over the world, as they faced dangerous journeys to and from school; one way to ease a treacherous commute was to build bridges. We discussed what empathy meant, and decided that this was a very important first step when taking action for creative problem solving. Then, we learned about different bridge structures and experimented with various ways to strengthen them using supports. Finally, we designed our own bridges, and used legos and blocks to build them. Mapping and Coding with Bee BotsThis week we explored coding and mapping with Bee Bots. Our task was to create a pathway for our Bee Bots and chart them on a large grid map. The Bee Bots are designed to follow directional commands and it was our job to create a path for how the Bee Bots will move through a set sequence. Through this task, we strengthened our problem solving, and visual spatial reasoning skills.
