It was great to see the children come back to school with lots of enthusiasm to tackle to the new term ahead. We dived straight back into our inquiry into exchange systems and how they help our community. With our new Chromebooks, it has given us the opportunity to develop some strategies for researching, such as using the internet and watching videos. We have been practising pausing and rewinding videos and then talking about the information that they have gathered from watching the videos. By talking about this information with a friend, it helps the children to organise their ideas and to ensure that they have fully understood something before writing it down. The children showed great levels of independence while completing these activities and collected information on exchange in the form of the Silk Road. On Friday we had Math Day! The children were excited to play different Math games throughout the day and to explore different kinds of currency that had been brought in. However, the most popular activity was playing Live Mathletics to try and reach the top of the leaderboard. The children demonstrated a high level of competitiveness whilst also showing compassion and pride for the accomplishments of their friends. Take a look at the photos below to see what we got up to!
