We are in the middle of our inquiry cycle now and the children have been thinking and gathering information about different forms of communication, using the terms verbal and non-verbal.
They have also begun to inquire into the relationships in their own lives and how they communicate with those people. Friends and family who live in different countries or who have moved have been a common theme and we will explore this further next week.
We have continued to have some fantastic sharing sessions, including home-made poi from New Zealand and Indonesian musical instruments, as well as games, toys and books from Japan, Indonesia, England, Italy. There are more lined up for next week. These have been a wonderful way for the children to learn more about each other and ask questions. They have been followed by playing and learning new games together. Communication building relationships in action.
Grade 2.1 are a class of 7 and 8 year old students who attend ISS International School in Singapore. We learn together and play together and enjoy sharing our discoveries with you.
