We were very excited for our House Fun Run this afternoon but unfortunately the haze paid us a visit and we had to postpone the event until next Friday. Fingers crossed that the haze doesn't make an appearance next week too!
Despite the haze, we have had a great week. We really got stuck into exploring different kinds of communication and sorting it into verbal and nonverbal communication. The children were eager to share their experiences of using different communication methods such as Skype, texting and email. This links directly to the writing we will be looking at in Literacy. We will be exploring letter writing, invitations and emails, so once we have built up our confidence using gmail, expect one or two emails from your children in the coming weeks! Have a look at the process of identifying different methods of communication, sorting it and then presenting their ideas to the class.
In Math this week, we explored the value of a number, partitioning into hundreds, tens and units. We used different resources and pictures to show our understanding and to make connections to how numbers change when adding multiples of 10. The children were keen to share the patterns that they noticed and showed increased confidence when adding multiples of 10 when working with 3 digit numbers.
Grade 2.1 are a class of 7 and 8 year old students who attend ISS International School in Singapore. We learn together and play together and enjoy sharing our discoveries with you.
